GULLANE, Scotland – Put away the rain gear and slather on some sunscreen – it should be another sun-splashed day at Muirfield.
Temperatures are expected to climb into the low 70s Friday with only a gentle breeze expected. Even though the wind will blow only 8-15 mph in the second round, it is the direction (east) that could pose issues for players. For the past few days it has blown out of the west.
The outlook for the rest of the weekend is promising, too. A cloudy start (with possible drizzle) is expected before becoming brighter and warmer throughout the afternoon, with temperatures around 70 degrees.
