ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Ben Crane’s opening round of 5-under 65 was good enough to push him into contention at the McGladrey Classic but even after his Day 1 success there is no guarantee he’ll be around for the weekend at Sea Island Resort.

Crane’s wife, Heather, is back home in Texas expecting the couple’s third child. The Cranes have scheduled a Caesarean section for Monday.

“I’ve definitely got my mind half here and half at home,” Crane said. “We’re keeping in close contact and if mama calls we’re going to get out of here and go home and have our third child.”
