Bethpage Black could be on the verge of another “major” milestone.

The PGA of America has scheduled a news conference at the course for Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. ET. According to a press release, the PGA will announce “historic golf news.”

Currently, the organization is booked for its two biggest events, the PGA Championship and Ryder Cup, through the years 2018 and 2020, respectively. The next available date for the latter in the United States would be 2024.

Bethpage has twice hosted majors in recent years, as the USGA held both the 2002 and 2009 editions of the U.S. Open on the famed municipal track.
