WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. – Maybe those elbow injuries are contagious after all.

With Tiger Woods already sidelined because of a sore left elbow and unable to compete in this week’s Greenbrier Classic, one of the tournament’s other big draws, John Daly, bowed out early in his second round with a similar injury.

After an opening-round 5-over 75, Daly bogeyed two of his first three holes on Friday before withdrawing from the event. He later tweeted that this may be the start of an extended absence.

This is his second withdrawal of the season; he also withdrew from the Crowne Plaza Invitational.

Daly has now withdrawn from 38 career PGA Tour events. However, this is just his second in the past three seasons combined.
