MARANA, Ariz. – Luke Donald is playing like a man possessed at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. He’s yet to see Dove Mountain’s 18th hole, it’s a winding par 4 in case he was interested, and made quick work of Ryan Moore Saturday morning on his way to the final four.
His 5-and-4 walkover of Moore followed victories of 6 and 5 in Round 1, 2 and 1 on Thursday and 3 and 2 on Day 3, and featured seven birdies.
Although the Englishman seems to be on cruise control his morning victory was his first trip to the quarterfinals in six starts at the Match Play.
