Ernie Els did not have a match with Tiger Woods last week at the Presidents Cup, but the Big Easy did not walk away impressed with Woods’ 2-3 performance at Royal Melbourne.

‘I don’t know if he made that strong a comeback, he only won two out of five matches,’ said Els at the South African Open, according to Sky Sports. ‘I know he won his singles match, but by then things were basically over.’

Woods defeated Aaron Baddeley for the cup-clinching point by a 4-and-3 margin, posting the best performance of any of the 24 players in the session. Nevertheless, Woods was unable to carry partners Dustin Johnson and Steve Stricker to more than one win.

Els, however, gave Woods credit for bettering Els’ mark.

‘You know, two out of five, it’s better than one out of five,’ he said.
