PARKER, Colo. – Neumann mania is taking hold in the European team ranks.

Captain Liselotte Neumann was surprised and amused when her players and caddies broke out Neumann masks and wore them while dancing at the team party Tuesday night. Neumann laughed when she saw Suzann Pettersen and other players donning the masks on the first tee in Wednesday’s practice rounds.

“It was pretty funny,” Neumann said. “I just hope the players won’t be sick and tired of my face before the tournament starts.”

Neumann became a golf icon in Sweden when she won the U.S. Women’s Open in 1988, her rookie season. She went on to win 13 LPGA titles to go with her eight Ladies European Tour titles.
