Sergio Garcia will pledge $1,000 for every birdie and $2,000 for every eagle he makes through the end of this year’s FedEx Cup season to the local First Tee chapters of the events he plays.

“I’m excited to support the First Tee and the good works it does in teaching youth the life skills that are part of our sport,” he said.

Garcia has four top 10s in 10 starts this season on the PGA Tour. He could play as many as seven more tournaments this season, meaning he’ll have plenty of opportunities to pad his birdies made total, which currently sits at 125. He has also made five eagles.
