Guan Tianlang will make another start with the big boys.
The 15-year-old will tee it up in the European Tour’s Hong Kong Open, which is scheduled for Dec. 5-8 at Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. Miguel Angel Jimenez is the defending champion.
Guan (T-8) was unable to defend his title at last month’s Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship, meaning he will not make a return trip this spring to Augusta. Last year, he became the youngest player ever to make the cut in a major, and he followed up that historic feat with another made cut at the Zurich Classic.
In a statement, Guan said, “This year has just been an incredible journey for me. Making the cut at the Masters was a very special achievement for me, and I hope to be able to produce a similar performance at the Hong Kong Golf Club in December.”
