In a fog

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – The start of the 92nd PGA Championship has been delayed by fog that has rolled in from Lake Michigan and limited visibility to little more than a 9-iron. Officials announced at 9:45 a.m. (CT) they plan to begin the opening round at 10:10 a.m., three hours and 10 minutes later than scheduled.

“It’s tough waiting around because you never know. They just come up to you and all of a sudden you’ve got 30 minutes to get ready,” said Col Swatton, Jason Day’s caddie.

The morning’s marquee pairing of Tiger Woods, defending PGA champion Y.E. Yang and Vijay Singh, who won the PGA in 2004 here at Whistling Straits, were set to tee off at 11:20 a.m. off the 10th tee.
