JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Matt Kuchar is nothing if not consistent. But we all already knew that. He’s just further proving it this week at Liberty National.
Kuchar co-leads The Barclays alongside Gary Woodland through 54 holes, looking to secure his third win of the season and his second Barclays title (2010 at Ridgewood).
After completing his second-round 65 Saturday morning, Kuchar held a two-shot lead over Webb Simpson and Woodland heading into the third round. He posted a 70 in tougher conditions Saturday afternoon.

‘Today was really difficult,’ Kuchar said, ‘this afternoon, even this morning, the restart, it was blowing 15, 20 miles an hour.
‘The course seemed to play a good two or three shots harder I think today than it did the first two days.’
His third round included two bogeys on the front and three birdies on the back.
Kuchar has held or shared a 54-hole lead three previous times in his career and has gone on to win two of those events: 2009 Turning Stone Resort Championship (tied for the lead through three rounds) and 2013 Memorial Tournament.
Kuchar will tee off alongside Woodland in the final pairing on Sunday at 1:50 p.m. ET, looking to hold off not only Woodland, but Tiger Woods who is four back.
