Professional golfers time-and-time again shoot low scores in the 60s, but it seems that magic number in the 50s is becoming tougher and tougher to achieve.

It’s only been recorded 19 times on the professional stage, so when a golfer finally breaks through, it’s something special.

From Paul Goydos’ 59 in 2010 at the John Deere Classic to Annika Sorenstam’s memorable 59 in 2001, here’s a look at some of the players that eclipsed the mark and shot in the 50s. Click here to view the gallery, or on the image below.
