Former Major League Baseball pitcher John Smoltz has accepted a sponsor’s invitation into the Nationwide Tour’s South Georgia Classic, April 28 - May 1 at Kinderlou forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.

Smoltz has long been noted as one of the best golfers from a different sport. The former Atlanta Braves ace, who has played several rounds alongside Tiger Woods, sports a scratch handicap.

Smoltz pitched 21 seasons, 20 with the Braves. The 1996 Cy Young Award winner and 1995 World Series champion compiled a 213-155 record with 154 saves and a 3.33 career Earned Run Average.
