ORLANDO, Fla. – Yani Tseng battled a sore right knee Sunday at the CME Group Titleholders Championship.

Tseng, the world No. 1, said her knee began aching about the fifth hole. She noticed the pain when she squatted to read a putt.

“It felt like something was crooked in there,” Tseng said. “It was sore a little bit, and I couldn’t squat much.”

Tseng, who closed with a 74 Sunday to finish tied for sixth, said she didn’t think it was anything serious.

“Maybe if I ice it a couple days, it’ll be fine,” Tseng said.

Tseng has won 11 times worldwide this year, and though her LPGA season is over, she has one more shot at a 12th victory. She is scheduled to play the Swinging Skirts Invitational with Paula Creamer, Cristie Kerr and other top LPGA pros Dec. 9-11. Not long after that, she’s heading to Las Vegas and two weeks of vacation. She expects to make her first start next year at the LPGA’s season-opening ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open.
