Steve Stricker, the world’s No. 3 player, withdrew from The Players Championship this morning.
Stricker, 43, has been working to recover from inflammation of the joint where his right clavicle meets his sternum. He withdrew after playing the pro-am at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans 13 days ago.
Spencer Levin will move up as an alternate to replace Stricker.
