GULLANE, Scotland – Tiger Woods is now 25 over par in his last seven major weekends. Here is a closer look at those performances.

2012

Masters (T-40) 72-75-72-74 – 293: The second-round 75 sent him out of contention early and the 5-over total score was his worst performance in relation to par as a pro at Augusta National.

U.S. Open (T-21) 69-70-75-73 – 287: This one at Olympic Club was a surprise. Woods was tied for the lead after two rounds and played terribly in Round 3.

British Open (T-3) 67-67-70-73 – 277: Woods was within five shots of the lead to start the final round but never was in contention.

PGA Championship (T-11) 69-71-74-72 – 286: This was Rory McIlroy’s show so it isn’t really significant, but the third-round 74 was disappointing nonetheless.

2013

Masters (T-4) 70-73-70-70 – 283: Dropgate, it’s the only way to explain it. Had Woods’ ball not hit the flagstick on the 15th hole in Round 2 he likely would’ve won a fifth green jacket. But …

U.S. Open (T-32) 73-70-76-74 – 293: Another third-round explosion. As we found out later Woods was dealing with a tender elbow, which was not ideal considering Merion’s thick rough. Just a bad week at the golf course for Woods.

British Open (T-6) 69-71-72-74 – 286: Woods’ best chance to win a major since the 2009 PGA Championship. He was within two shots to start the final round but bogeyed the first hole and never was a factor on a day when Phil Mickelson shot 66.
