After challenging Cincinnati Reds speedster Billy Hamilton to a race on Twitter, Bubba Watson stopped by the team’s spring training facility on Tuesday in Scottsdale, Ariz., prepared to run.
Instead, the two-time Masters champ had to settle for an autographed bat

Nevertheless, the minority owner of the Reds’ Double-A affiliate in Pensacola, Fla., the Blue Wahoos, seemed to take it in stride, understanding the team’s decision to hold their leading base-stealer from last season out of the friendly competition.
“He chickened out today. He’s got to stretch,” Watson said with a laugh. “They’re making him do some physical stuff. He gave me a bat and stuff. He played with the Blue Wahoos and is known for being kind of fast. I said, ‘I start at second base and he starts at home,’ and in the clubhouse, he said he could still beat me. I said, ‘There’s no chance.’ But they’re not letting him run right now. They want him to stay healthy, I guess.”
My pleasure to sign a bat for one of the greatest golf player/fastest person I know lol thanks @bubbawatson pic.twitter.com/5Nw6IugsaQ
