Still recovering from back surgery, two-time Players champion Tiger Woods isn’t at TPC Sawgrass this week. Instead, he’s reading at home and waxing poetic about his younger years.
What a great read. The lows, the tragedy & the will & belief to create something thats never been done. Much Respect pic.twitter.com/KhytVQEeZo

I want to thank you again PK on taking a chance on a little punk kid who had done nothing at the professional level.

While the sentiment is nice, the history seems a tad ... cute? That “little punk kid” famously calculated his yardages using the Pythagorean theorem while attending Stanford, and as for doing “nothing at the professional level,” he was a three-time U.S. Junior Amateur champion, a three-time U.S. Amateur champion, an NCAA Division I individual champion, and pretty much the surest bet in golf history.
If anything, guys like Rory McIlroy should be thanking Tiger for the rise of Nike Golf. Little bit of value added there.
