Shooter McGavin returning to big screen ... kind of

Thumbnail

We’ve gone way too long without some Shooter McGavin in our lives, and since it doesn’t look like a sequel to “Happy Gilmore” is on the horizon, this will have to suffice.

McGavin (AKA Christopher McDonald) will star in a new golf-themed thriller, “The Squeeze,” set to hit theaters on April 17.

Here’s a first look at the trailer:

According to IMDB.com, the film recounts the true story of “a humble, young man with uncommon skills from a small southern town who gets caught up in high stakes golf matches between big-time gamblers until the game becomes life and death.”

So it seems to have a little more serious tone than his golf movie debut, but we still get Shooter, playing a bad guy, in a gold(ish) jacket ... at least in one scene. Count me in.

If he needs any extra henchmen, there’s a guy that’s been waiting at a Red Lobster for about 19 years.
