Woods on the line

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The world No. 1 has been steadier on Friday, although he missed the fairway left at No. 3 for bogey to offset an opening birdie, but he still has some work to do.

Woods is currently 2 over par and a shot outside the cut line. Before missing the cut at last year’s British Open Woods had gone more than three years without a blemish on his weekend scorecard, all the way back to the 2006 U.S. Open.
