EVIAN-LES-BAINES, France -- Paula Creamer posted a 1-under 71 in the final round Saturday to coast to an eight-shot win at the Evian Masters. Creamer completed the event at 15-under-par 273.
Amateur sensation Michelle Wie posted her second straight 4-under 68 to end at 7-under-par 281. She shared second place with Lorena Ochoa, who posted a 69 on Saturday. Lorie Kane finished one stroke further back at minus-6.
Michelle Wie played well enough to notch her third runner-up finish on the LPGA Tour in 2005.
Annika Sorenstam, the 2002 champion, struggled to a 3-over 75 in the final round. She ended in 12th place at 3-under-par 285.
Creamer, who won the Sybase Classic earlier this year, stumbled out of the gate with a bogey at the first. As she parred the next two holes, her lead dropped to five strokes over Karine Icher, the closest anyone would get all day.
Creamer rolled in a birdie putt on the fourth at Evian Masters Golf Club. She made it two in a row when her birdie try on the par-4 fifth fell into the cup.
The 18-year-old tripped to the final bogey of her round at the sixth to drop back to minus-14. Creamer cruised around the turn with five straight pars.
Creamer moved to 15 under when she sank a birdie putt on the par-4 12th. She parred her final six holes to cruise to the big win.
Wie opened with a birdie at the first. She parred her next four holes before stumbling to a bogey on the par-4 sixth. The Hawaiian moved back to minus-4 with a birdie on the ninth.
Around the turn, Wie drained back-to-back birdies from the 12th. She closed with a birdie on the par-5 closing hole to share second place.
Ochoa got her round going with a birdie on the first. She wrapped bogeys at the fourth and sixth around a birdie on No. 5.
The Mexican got back to 5 under with a birdie on the par-5 seventh. Ochoa dropped in back-to-back birdies from the ninth to get to minus-7. She tripped to a bogey on the par-3 14th, but closed with a birdie at the last for the fourth straight day.
Helen Alfredsson, the 1998 champion, fired the low round of the tournament as she closed with a 7-under 65. She shared fifth place at 5-under-par 283 with Icher, Maria Hjorth, Christina Kim, Carin Koch and Meena Lee. Liselotte Neumann was one stroke further back at minus-4.
