COLOGNE, Germany -- The inaugural Mercedes-Benz Championship will feature a 78-player field with no cut.
Angel Cabrera, the reigning U.S. Open winner, will be among the 27 winners from the European Tour international schedule in the field at Cologne’s Golf Club Gut Larchenhof.
Cabrera is making his first appearance in Continental Europe -- he played three events in a row in Ireland and Scotland, including the British Open, this summer -- since winning at Oakmont in June.
GOLF CHANNEL will have coverage this weekend. Next week is the British Masters, which Johan Edfors won in May 2006.
