Euro Tour Travels to Indonesia

JAKARTA, Indonesia -- With many of the European Tour stars playing in the U.S. this week, two other European Ryder Cup stars - Paul McGinley and Darren Clarke - will headline the field in Jakarta.

Clarke’s well documented struggles with the death of his wife seem to be a thing of the past. He already has two top-fives in six starts, before struggling the last two events.

The Ulsterman missed the cut in Dubai, then closed 79-82 last week in the Indian Masters to finish 63rd. Clarke will hope to turn things around as he makes his first start at this event.

‘It was a long time ago that I was this enthusiastic,’ Clarke was quoted on the European Tour’s website. ‘I’ve always been keen, but now I am working harder than I have ever worked and spending more time on my game than I have ever done.’

This event is co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour.

The GOLF CHANNEL will broadcast action of all four days starting at 7:30 a.m. (ET).

Next week is another co-sanctioned event, the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, where Henrik Stenson will defend his title.
