LONDON England -- HSBC will sponsor the HSBC Champions tournament in Shanghai, China, the financial services organization announced on Monday.
The inaugural HSBC Champions tournament will be played from November 10-13, 2005, at Shanghai Sheshan International Golf Club and will feature a total purse of $5 million. The tournament will be co-sanctioned by the European Tour, Asian Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia, Sunshine Tour and China Golf Association.
World No. 1 Tiger Woods has stated that he will compete at the HSBC Champions tournament.
