January and Littler Capture Demaret Division Title

Savannah, GA -- Don January and Gene Littler teamed to shoot a 6-under 66 on Tuesday and captured the Demaret Division title at the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.

January and Littler finished the two-day bestball tournament for players age 70 and older at 11-under-par 133. Miller Barber and Jim Ferree, who had won this event the past two years, finished one shot further back at 10-under-par 134.

The winning duo was helped by Littler’s putting after the 73-year-old drained several birdie putts on the back nine at Westin Savannah.

‘Gene is a marvelous putter,’ said January. ‘Gene and I have had a lot of good times.’

January and Littler shared $90,000 for the win.
