Kang Collects Futures Win in Tampa

OLDSMAR, FL -- Jimin Kang shot a two-under 70 on Sunday to hang on and win the Tampa Bay’s Next Generation Futures Golf Classic. She finished the tournament at 8-under-par 208 for a 1-shot victory over Seon-Hwa Lee.

Kang, an Arizona State University product, won for the second time on the Futures Tour. At the age of 22, Kang won her professional debut at the M&T Bank Loretto Futures Golf Classic in 2002.

Lee also posted a 2-under 70 on Sunday and will have to wait for her first professional victory.

Meredith Ward carded a 1-under 71 in the final round and took third place at 6-under-par 210 at the South Course at East Lake Woodlands Golf & Country Club.

Courtney Swaim (71) and Emily Bastel (73) shared fourth place at 3-under- par 213, followed by Jenny Gleason (67) and Sung Ah Yim (68), who tied for sixth at minus-2.

Bo Mi Suh shot a 4-under 68 and took eighth at minus-1, while Katie Connelly and Kelly Cap tied for ninth at 1-over-par 217.
