Ben Curtis is a winner on the PGA Tour for the first time in six years.

With a final round of even-par 72, Curtis won the Valero Texas Open by two shots over rookie John Huh and Matt Every at 9 under. A clutch 23-foot par putt at No. 17 set up Curtis for his first victory since the 2006 84 Lumber Classic and his fourth Tour win.

Every closed with a 1-under 71, while Huh shot a 3-under 69. Both players had several opportunities for birdies to catch Curtis, but the putts didn’t fall.

Defending champion Brendan Steele, Bob Estes, Charlie Wi and Brian Gay tied for fourth at 5 under. Ryan Moore, Hunter Haas and Cameron Tringale tied for eighth at 4 under.
