Bubba Watson has pulled out of the Wells Fargo Championship to spend time with his family, including his newly adopted son, Caleb.

The world No. 4 informed the tournament of his change in plans on Monday, according to the Charlotte Observer. The Charlotte stop is in two weeks and the precursor to The Players Championship.

By removing Quail Hollow from his schedule, Watson will have a break after winning the Masters. Watson will compete next week as defending champion of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, skip Quail Hollow and return at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., from May 10-13.
