RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Karin Sjodin looked as if she might not play the weekend at the Kraft Nabisco Championship, and now she’s playing to win.

With a 4-under-par 68 Saturday, Sjodin is tied for the lead with Yani Tseng.

Making the turn on Friday, Sjodin felt a sharp twinge in her rib cage walking to the 10th tee.

“I had a hard time breathing,” Sjodin said.

Sjodin asked for an LPGA trainer to come out and help her. She said the trainer “popped” the rib back into place.

“I don’t know if it is dislocated,” Sjodin said. “It sounds weird, regarding ribs, but it hurts.”

Sjodin, 28, said she had the rib region taped up before Saturday’s round, and it didn’t bother her much. She said it bothered her swing on Friday, but she fought through it.

Sjodin is seeking her first LPGA title. She’s ranked No. 216 in the world. Her top-10 finish at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup two weeks ago was her first top 10 since her rookie year in 2006.
