As the U.S. Ryder Cup team tries to move past the fallout from its loss in Paris, Francesco Molinari and Tommy Fleetwood continue to show just how effortless true affection can be.
With both players in the field this week at the WGC-HSBC Champions, Molinari was asked on Wednesday to describe Fleetwood in three words. He only used one.
“Love,” he answered.
That’s it? Just love?
“Yeah,” he followed, before adding, “Hair. And humor. But love first.”
Two days later, on Friday, Fleetwood was asked the same question. Three words to describe Francesco, Tommy?
“Beautiful Italian man,” he said.
Molinari and Fleetwood are currently Nos. 1 and 2 in the Race to Dubai standings. Maybe they can find a way to share the season-long title and put it next to the Ryder Cup.
