Dufner leads Zurich after 36 holes

AVONDALE, La. – After a second round of 7-under 65, Jason Dufner leads at the halfway mark of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.

Dufner is 12 under par and leads rookie Russell Knox, first-round co-leader Ken Duke and John Rollins by a shot. Knox tied the course record of 64.

Aussie lefty Greg Chalmers also shot 64 and sits tied for fifth on 10 under with Ernie Els and Steve Stricker.

World No. 2 Luke Donald shot 65 to trail by a half-dozen strokes heading into the weekend. If he finishes solo seventh or better, he will regain the top ranking from Rory McIlroy.

Masters champion Bubba Watson made the cut at 2 under with a second consecutive 71.
