AUGUSTA, Ga. – Mark O’Meara has withdrawn from the Masters with a muscle injury. The 1998 champion told Golf Channel’s Todd Lewis that he has been slowed in recent weeks by a strain to his right intercostal muscle.

“It felt like it’s a knife stabbing me in my ribs,” O’Meara said.

The withdrawal reduces the field to 95 players, the fewest number of competitors since 2008.
