One surprise on the tee sheet was Davis Love III, who has been sidelined since neck surgery in February. According to his manager with Crown Sports, Love had been considering a soft return to competition at this week’s Par 3 Contest, but wanted to wait a few more weeks to regain his strength following surgery. He will not be playing alongside Fred Couples and Raymond Floyd, at 12:35 p.m.

Love was also considering playing next week’s RBC Heritage, but will likely delay his return until the Wells Fargo Championship in early March.

It was not a surprise, however, that Tiger Woods again did not sign up to play the Par 3 Contest.
