Tiger Woods is again a winner on the PGA Tour. With a final round of 2-under 70, Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational by five shots over Graeme McDowell.

Woods finished at 13-under par, with the 2010 U.S. Open champion shooting 74 to finish at 8 under.

The victory is Woods’ first in an official PGA Tour event since the 2009 BMW Championship, ending a 30-month slide without such a win. It is his 72nd PGA Tour win, leaving him one shy of Jack Nicklaus for second on the all-time PGA Tour wins list.

Ernie Els finished just shy of earning a berth into the Masters. Ian Poulter finished in solo third on 6-under par, where Els needed to finish to crack the top 50 in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Els finished in a tie for fourth place with Ryan Moore, Brian Davis, Bubba Watson, Bud Cauley, Kevin Na and Johnson Wagner.

The only path to Augusta for Els is to win the Shell Houston Open next week. A victory in Texas would extend a streak of Masters appearances dating back to 1994.
