DORAL, Fla. – Tiger Woods made the turn at even par Thursday during the first round of the WGC-Cadillac Championship. Although it was an ordinary score, the way it happened was anything but.

Woods made eagle on the opening hole, an easy 529-yard par 5 that played directly downwind. He hit driver, wedge to 2 feet and converted the putt. From there he made one birdie and three bogeys to shoot 36.

On the par-3 ninth hole Woods landed 70 feet from the hole, left his first putt 12 feet short, then missed the par attempt and made bogey.

Adam Scott and Steve Stricker are leaders at 6 under. Scott has two holes remaining, Stricker eight. Sergio Garcia, who is playing with Woods, made the turn at 5 under.
