Justin Thomas has officially withdrawn from the Biltmore Championship Asheville in North Carolina this week.
The 16-time PGA Tour winner was set to headline the field at The Cliffs at Walnut Cove as the highest ranked player in the 132-person field until he dropped out of the tournament late Sunday evening.
Cameron Champ will take Thomas’s spot in the FedExCup Fall’s first event; the 31-year-old has won three times on the PGA Tour.

No official reason has been given as to why Thomas decided not to play in the Biltmore, but he is still confirmed for the Presidents Cup at Medinah Country Club next week.
Thomas was selected to represent the U.S. as one of Presidents Cup captain Brandt Snedeker’s picks in early September. The 33-year-old has competed in three previous Presidents Cup events and has racked up an overall record of 10-3-2 at the biennial competition.
It was initially thought that Thomas would use the Biltmore Championship as a tune-up tournament alongside U.S. teammates Jacob Bridgeman and Jackson Koivun before they headed to Chicago to face the International squad. Bridgeman and Koivun are still set to tee it up in the Blue Ridge Mountains beginning September 17.
