The U.S. Presidents Cup team heads to Medinah Country Club next week in search of an 11th straight win in the biennial event.
Brandt Snedeker finalized his 12-man roster on Sept. 1 with six captain’s picks. Chris Gotterup, Xander Schauffele, Jackson Koivun, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantlay and Jacob Bridgeman are the half dozen players who will be joining the six automatic qualifiers next week.
The 21-year-old Koivun, who won in his third career start on Tour, is making his Presidents Cup debut alongside Gotterup and Bridgeman.
The American captain’s picks will join Scottie Scheffler, Cameron Young, Wyndham Clark, Sam Burns, Russell Henley and Collin Morikawa, who made the team as automatic qualifiers.
The U.S. takes on the International Team at Medinah from Thursday, Sept. 24, through Sunday, Sept. 27, with NBC and Golf Channel hosting live TV coverage and Golf Channel mobile and Peacock streaming the event.
