U.S. takes lead at Presidents Cup behind Scheffler, Burns
Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns react to their Day 1 fourball victory over Min Woo Lee and Sungjae Im to open the 2026 Presidents Cup at Medinah.

The 16th Presidents Cup’s first fourballs session is over at Medinah Country Club outside of Chicago, with the U.S. leading the Internationals, 3-2.

Friday features five foursomes (alternate shot) matches, followed by four fourballs and four foursomes in a double-session Saturday. Sunday will conclude with 12 singles matches.

The complete Friday foursomes matchups were announced Thursday night, with International team captain Geoff Ogilvy opting to sit Ryo Hisatsune and Nico Echavarria. Jackson Koivun and Chris Gotterup will sit for the Americans.

Here are the five starting times for Day 2:

  • Match 1, 2:05 p.m. ET — Scottie Scheffler/Sam Burns vs. Corey Conners/Nick Taylor
  • Match 2, 2:19 p.m. ET — Russell Henley/Jacob Bridgeman vs. Sungjae Im/Hideki Matsuyama
  • Match 3, 2:33 p.m. ET — Wyndham Clark/Collin Morikawa vs. Ryan Fox/Min Woo Lee

Echavarria, Koivun and Gotterup were the three players who gained the least strokes on Thursday (per Data Golf). Hisatsune, who lost just 0.08 strokes, was fourth best on the International team.

Henley is the world’s sixth-ranked player.
