No. 1-ranked junior Asterisk Talley will face Anna Iwanaga, this week’s co-medalist, in the 36-hole final of the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
Talley and Iwanaga both won their semifinal matches, 6 and 4, when play resumed Sunday morning at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tennessee. Following several weather suspensions and delays throughout the week, Talley and Iwanaga made it through nine holes of the semis on Saturday.
Talley was 3 up over Lily Peng and Iwanaga was 3 up over Gabriella Nicastro.
Iwanaga came out hot after sun rise, making birdie on Nos. 11-14 to close out her match. Talley, likewise, made three quick birdies to advance. Talley was the runner-up two years ago, falling to Rianne Malixi in the finals, 3 and 2.
Golf Channel will have live coverage of the championship match beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
