KAPALUA, Hawaii – Harris English is the latest PGA Tour pro to switch equipment affiliations, joining the Callaway staff, it was announced Thursday.
“I’ve been really happy with the new Callaway clubs,” said English, who is competing in this week’s Hyundai Tournament of Champions. “And the team at Callaway has been fantastic. In a short period of time, I’ve been able to take advantage of the resources they have and I’m excited about the start of the 2014 season."
English was previously under contract with Ping.
Already with two career victories in his first two-plus seasons – including one at the OHL Classic at Mayakoba in November – the 24-year-old is among the brightest up-and-coming players in the pro ranks.
He’s a long hitter, too, which is a trademark of many Callaway signees. He averaged 295.2 yards per drive last season (35th on Tour) and is averaging 294.3 in four starts already this season.
