ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Troy Merritt had a tough Sunday, struggling to a 75 in the final group at the McGladrey Classic to finish tied for 33rd, but at least he was buoyed by the success of Boise State on Saturday.
The Broncos remained undefeated after beating Toledo on Saturday and in the hunt for the school’s first national championship. Just don’t expect Merritt, a Boise State alum, to join the chorus of converts who say the school should be the nation’s top-ranked team.
“I don’t vote,” he smiled. “I just watch.”
