Bradley: Tough week 'put things into perscpective'

Keegan Bradley

MARANA, Ariz. – It’s been an eventful 48 hours for Keegan Bradley.

The PGA champion began his whirlwind with a 13 footer for birdie on the 72nd hole to join a playoff at the Northern Trust Open. A few hours later he was on a redeye flight headed east to attend the funeral of Peter Curran, the father of Bradley’s roommate John Curran.

Peter Curran’s funeral was on Monday in Framingham, Mass., and Bradley, who lost the playoff when Bill Haas birdied the second extra hole in Los Angeles, was a pallbearer.

During this emotional odyssey Bradley also found himself under siege on Twitter after cameras on Sunday aired several shots of him spitting at Riviera.

“It kind of put things into perspective, at the same time I’m getting pounded on Twitter here I am burying my best friend’s dad,” said Bradley, who took a late flight and arrived in Tucson for this week’s WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship at 11 p.m. on Monday.

As for the spitting, Bradley said he wasn’t aware of it until after he watched replays of the Northern Trust and he plans to curb the practice.

“I’m so thankful I’m playing this week because (fans) can be brutal on Twitter,” he said.
