The top 70 players in the FedExCup standings get to tee off at the FedEx St. Jude Championship next week in Memphis.
Entering the Wyndham Championship, the bubble was as tight as ever with a little more than 100 points separating the 65th and 80th ranked players. While seemingly arbitrary, this stretch of names on the playoff points list is the proverbial playoff “bubble.”
Names on the bubble range from Tour veterans, like Keegan Bradley and Jason Day, to a young stars who have already found the winner’s circle in their early 20s (see: Aldrich Potgieter and Jackson Koivun).
Golf Channel will track how this list of players is doing at the end of each round at Sedgefield beginning after Thursday’s opening round. Note: the player’s current Wyndham leaderboard status will be listed in the third column.

Nobody helped their cause more Thursday than first round leader Beau Hossler, who started the week ranked 122nd and now is projected to finish 52nd.
Davis Thompson, along with Koivun, has put himself right in for quite the nerve-wracking ride this week. He started 81st and enjoyed a nice leap after carding an opening round 64 — all the way to No. 72, a spot behind the reigning back-to-back Haskins Award winner.
And speaking of young studs, Ben James saw the second highest jump in the standings behind Hossler. The PGA Tour rookie opened 141st in the standings and now projects to b 94th. Still plenty of work to be done on the course.
