TROON, Scotland – You might notice David Feherty wearing a kilt during Saturday’s broadcast of The Open. Here's the reason why:
Feherty bet a TV spotter that Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose wouldn’t make the cut at Royal Troon. He lost on the wager when Spieth’s 4-over total qualified on the number. Rose made it in at 3 over.
Feherty made the bet when Spieth and Rose were playing, on Friday, in the worse conditions of the championship. Asked why he didn’t think the two would make the weekend, Feherty joked: "I thought they would and was looking for an excuse to wear a kilt.”
