Meet the 2026 U.S. Solheim Cup team, including three captain’s picks

Just hours after her automatic picks were finalized, U.S. Solheim Cup captain Angela Stanford rounded out her 12-player side with three captain’s picks on Monday morning.

Solheim veterans Rose Zhang and Megan Khang were tabbed by Stanford, along with 35-year-old rookie Lindy Duncan.

World No. 1 Nelly Korda headlined the nine automatic qualifiers, which were finalized after Sunday’s final round of the CPKC Women’s Open. Also qualifying were Angel Yin, Jennifer Kupcho, Yealimi Noh, Auston Kim, Lauren Coughlin, Allisen Corpuz, Andrea Lee and Alison Lee. Among the auto selections, only Kim is a rookie. Both Lees qualified via the world ranking, while the first seven came off U.S. Solheim points.

The highest-ranked American not picked was Jenny Bae, who is No. 67 in the Rolex Rankings, followed by Ryann O’Toole (101), Jing Yan (106) and Lucy Li (117).

Kiara Romero, already No. 164 despite tying for 23rd in her pro debut last week in Canada, did not receive a pick, either. Her T-6 at the U.S. Women’s Open as an amateur earlier this summer gives her one more major top-10 than five of the 12 members of this year’s U.S. team.

Duncan missed four of five major cuts this year and was T-61 at the AIG Women’s Open. She has never won on the LPGA.

The Solheim Cup will take place Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf in Netherlands. The U.S. leads the all-time series 11-7-1 and is the defending champion (2024), though Europe has won or retained three of the last four editions. The U.S. last won on European soil in 2015.

European captain Anna Nordqvist finalized her team three weeks ago.
