The LPGA’s tour event in Portland, Ore., went from tentative to confirmed with Tuesday’s announcement that a new sponsor has been secured.

The Portland Classic, a new name that’s really an old name, will be played as originally expected Aug. 28-31 at Columbia-Edgewater Country Club. The Portland Classic was the original name of this 43-year-old event.

With Safeway bowing out as title sponsor, ending its 18-year association with the event, Cambia Health Solutions becomes the new presenting sponsor, according to the Tournament Golf Foundation. The 72-hole event will feature a $1.3 million purse. When the LPGA originally released its 2014 schedule, the Portland event was listed as tentative.
