Barclays play set to resume - again - at 4:15PM ET

JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Mother Nature’s dominance of the PGA Tour season has now extended into the playoffs.

The opening round of The Barclays was suspended for a second time Thursday at 12:47 p.m. ET because of dangerous weather. A similar suspension of play happened at 8:33 a.m. ET, but play resumed briefly at 11:05 a.m. This is the 37th tournament of the season and 20th to have play suspended at some point (19 of which have been because of weather issues).

The Tour announced that they would resume play at 4:15 p.m.

Heavy rain, thunder and lightning surrounded Liberty National Golf Course just over an hour after the opening tee time of the first FedEx Cup Playoff event.

Jason Day, Kevin Stadler and Matt Every shared the lead at 4 under at the time of the second suspension. Day was through nine holes, Stadler and Every through seven.

Tiger Woods was 3 under though seven holes.
