JERSEY CITY, N.J. – Two lengthy weather suspensions on Thursday are going to make for a messy next couple of days at The Barclays – and that’s not just a poke at the course conditions.

Those six hours of delays led to the horn being blown for darkness at 7:43 p.m. local time with 63 players still on the course.

The opening round will resume at 7 a.m. on Friday, followed by the second round beginning at 9:30 a.m. The morning wave tee times will continue to 11:20 a.m., then the afternoon wave will begin at 2:15 p.m., ending at exactly 3:54 p.m.

What that means is that the second round won’t be completed on Friday, necessitating another early restart on Saturday morning to finish that round prior to the beginning of the third round.

In all, the opening round was delayed for six hours on Thursday.

This was the 19th tournament this season to be suspended due to weather conditions.
