Z. Johnson serves as Iowa football honorary captain

Zach Johnson on Saturday got his biggest thrill since winning the British Open in July.

The Iowa native and Hawkeyes fan was asked by head football coach Kirk Ferentz to join the team this past weekend as an honorary captain.

The undefeated Hawkeyes dispatched of Maryland (31-15), advanced to 8-0, and made every other fan in the country incredibly uneasy about their own program’s playoff hopes.

The PGA Tour on Monday released this short clip of Johnson and the claret jug’s weekend at Kinnick Stadium:

The Iowa Hawkeyes rolled yesterday. Having @ZachJohnsonPGA as an honorary captain didn’t hurt. https://t.co/i5vJMshd37 — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) November 2, 2015

If the Hawkeyes start limiting their touchdown celebrations to understated handshakes, you’ll know why.
