2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open Champion Kyle Stanley is in Coral Gables, Florida for the Erik Compton Golf Classic which raises money for the Transplant Foundation which provides services for organ transplant recipients and their families. As we all know, Erik is on his third heart and he is trying to raise awareness with this tournament. He is very happy to be a part of this special event today in Coral Gables.

The time between the Farmers Insurance Open and the Waste Management Phoenix Open was obviously a very turbulent time as he went from a dramatic loss to a dramatic win. He learned a great deal about himself and it is an amazing feeling to now be a PGA TOUR winner. He is going to take a bit of time off soon to get ready for The Masters.

Since he won, the biggest changes are that more people recognize him on and off the course and also he has more obligations during the week. While some things have changed, he feels that he has not changed as a person and he is committed to not changing as a person no matter what happens in his career.

When he runs into people who recognize him, sometimes people mention Torrey Pines first while others mention Scottsdale first. If anything, more people mention his win in Scottsdale than mention his loss at Torrey Pines.
